If one reads the Hebrew Bible one finds that they are, historically, incredibly bad at judging what is good for them. The next thing they are scheduled to do is accept the anti-Christ as their messiah and that will not work out well for two-thirds of them.
child sacrifice is an abomination. 2016 was 40 years for Israel. The Biblical consequence for nationally legal child sacrifice is invasion and conquest. It’s happened in their history before, they have been warned before, and the book of Lamentations is the cry of a disciplined nation whose God will not forgive. (He won’t forgive any nation for it sooo...)
