“age of consent” laws. Been lots of debate about those recently mostly by politicans who want to lower to age so perverts may sexually abuse children and get away with it.
Past 100 years America as sought to keep our children as children until they are 18 sometimes until they are 21 regarding a lot of other things.
Don’t see that as a bad thing.
We want our children more educated and not running off and getting married at 13 as in the past. Or married off to old coots like in muslim countries. Or like what this man was trying to pull. She is a child in our eyes and will remain so until the day she turns 18.
