I think the Murdochs are more responsible for his demise than Brock”
No doubt about it. Rupert warned his kids when they settled harassment lawsuits against Ailes, that it would invite more problems. Still, I’m inclined to think O’Reilly caused a lot of his own problems. He should have gone through diversity training, like I had to do every year, for 10 years. It was torturous and useless, and I felt a little like Malcolm McDowell in Clockwork Orange. What I concluded early on was that you treat everyone the same. Don’t comment on a person’s sex, race or sexual preferences on the job and you’ll be fine. I didn’t learn that in diversity training, au contraire. It emphasized celebrating people’s differences, but try to do so without stepping on your tongue...never saw anyone do it successfully.
I don’t know about diversity training in offices - I left corporate life in the mid 90s. Sex “harassment” was never a problem for me on a major scale and I had a boss who always tried to kiss me, lol. But I liked him and keep in touch with him to this day. He was harmless; many men are harmless. Women don’t realize the power they have over men.
In theater, we always shared the same dressing rooms with men and very rarely did anything bad happen. I can only imagine the snowflakes coming out of college today and going into “show business”!
