More people are keeping an eye on the actions of United Airlines after a disturbing video of a United Airlines passenger being forcibly and violently removed from a plane went viral.
Most recently, several people took to Twitter to post statistical information from the Department of Transportation that showed more pets died while being transported by United than any other major airline in 2016.
The data, which surfaced on Monday, showed that United reported 9 pet deaths and 14 injuries for last year alone.
Some of the pet deaths include a Yorkshire Terrier named Diamond, a Belgian Malinois named Bakry and an American Staffordshire Terrier named Winston.
Most of the animal deaths appeared to be dogs, with the exception of a Sphynx cat.

Could be they are substantially cheaper on shipping pets, or served more airports than the competing airline , so they might be getting more business...and would therefore have more incidents.
The last time I transported my dog by air was in 1977. She wouldn’t speak to me for a week. Don’t recall which airline, but now we travel by motor home or not at all.
“If you paid the same price that you used to, adjusted for inflation, you would be flying first class. Its better than the old days. So stop complaining about the money youre saving. Its your choice.”
This is more than about money or inflation. This is about the crappy attitude of the people running the show. Adjusted for inflation stewardesses are paid the same back then as today maybe even better because of unions today so why the nasty ass attitude?
We can’t have service with a smile anymore? No we have thousands of Nurse Ratched on United! Don’t want United put out of business just want to force them to do better like I know they could.
;-)
It’s not my custom to brag. :-]
Republic is a regional carrier. They also serve Dalta and American Airlines. Their planes are also painted with “Delta: and “American,” but Republic Airways owns the planes, and the company is is managed by Republic Airways. They have their own pilots, gate agents, flight attendants, etc.

I blame Mitt Romney.
Dh is an airline pilot. There’s no way in hades he’d ever allow our dog to fly anywhere but in the cabin. Unfortunately, our pooch is too big for that now.
