Thought it well past time to get a 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs discussion thread going, now just 2 games into the 2017 Playoffs.
The mass defense of NSH is new to me and interesting to watch. So far, it is working. But of course you need goals to win too. Enjoying the “mood” of this team.

No joke, I saw Matthews and McDavid on the ice at the same time, same line. Matthews was better. Kid is unreal.
Toronto was amazing. Agreed. Great hockey.
That hit on Ovechkin was low by intention and he was lucky not to be injured to the point of missing games. If that hit happens in Toronto, it's play on. In DC, it was 2 minutes. He should have gotten five.
The Caps better find a way to win face offs or it will be a short series vs. Pitt. They will also need to find some speed and put more of their shots on net. Holtby will also need to be on his best game as the Pens just keep coming at ya.
We cannot stand the Ducks so we’re hoping the Oil eliminate them. Go Preds Go!
I used to live in Anaheim and I’ve been to many ducks games and I used to have a crush on Giguere. And I saw the cup when they won it.
But I’d be really happy if the Preds took it all. I have a crush on the whole city of Nashville. If it grew a red beard I’d be set. ;)

Now the Penguins moved on and I have sprouted an itchy, grey bristle patch that I am stuck with until (I hope) June.

Tonight I go to watch the Hershey Bears play Game 3 in the first round of AHL playoff hockey. Best of 5 and the Bears are up 2-0 after beating the Phantoms twice in their rink!
And that means I’m free Thursday for Game 1 of the Penguins/Capitals series!

There were very few who waited until the play-offs to start their beards. I can’t think of any, offhand.
We were at the Caps 3 - overtime loss to NY in game 7 of the series. We haven’t watched the choking dogs since. Heartbreakers in the playoffs.
Good game tonight. I hope Fiala is okay.
Amazing, Edmonton won the late game, I know they were down at one point. 4 goals in the 3rd period, I didn’t see it but that’s got to be special. They probably got one goal on an empty net after going ahead 4-3.
