TSA and the airlines are joined at the hip. It is nearly impossible to identify the point where TAS ends and the airline begins. The experience of going through airport security is dehumanizing. That is not a bug, it's a feature. The security system wants you to feel dehumanized because once you feel this way you are easier to control. The airline knows their customer feel this way. They don't care. They airline industry could have pushed back on the worst parts of the Patriot Act, but they didn't.

I'm not going to defend the flyer other than to say that there have been times that I was so fed up with the whole system that I wanted to scream. I don't agree with what he did but I understand why he did it. It seems to me that most people are not defending the flyer, but they are raking United over the coals. Because, they understand why he did it too.

Thought experiment: If you were given $10 billion tomorrow, how long would it take you to acquire a private jet?

” If you were given $10 billion tomorrow, how long would it take you to acquire...”

United Airlines? I bet I could acquire enough stock to fire most of the misfits who are running that circus!
