The reason Seattle (aka the Far Side) is so liberal is that the California libs moved north in the mid-70s and brought their disease. They utterly destroyed what was once a strong state with a strong economy, destroying industry after industry.

I don't think that's accurate. Seattle is actually kind of a boom town, not because of liberal politics, but because people like Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates are from here, and established economic empires which have created thousands of jobs and given rise to a building boom.

And despite the oppressive cultural leftism, the City of Seattle has remained relatively conservative in its financial operations. It doesn't face the huge economic problems of other liberal cities.
