Make it bad and play it funky.

I remember that - didn’t know it was Dobie, tho. Cool.

“By the way, does anyone know who came up with the term One-hit wonder?”
I’d guess Dick Clark was the originator. I seem to remember him using it.
J. Geils was kind of a three hit wonder. They had two earlier numbers Come Back and Love Stinks that charted pretty decently...
He's In Town (1964)
Dr Hook also had big hits with:
Sylvia’s Mother (said 40 cents more for the next 3 minutes, Please Mrs. Avery I’ve just got to..)
And the very nice straight forward pop hit Sharing the Night Together.
Spandau Ballet also had a hit with “Gold”
They had two earlier numbers Come Back and Love Stinks that charted pretty decently...

And I believe “Freezframe” also?
Something in the Air -—— Thunderclap Newman
The Turtles had something like 7 top 10 hits.
Eleanor
You Baby
She’d Rather Be with Me
You Showed Me
Just off the top of my head, come to mind
