Some people say the girl is too young - was only 15.
Yeah, Brandy is a good one!
One of my first favorite songs. I remember listening to it in the back seat of my parents’ 1958-ish Plymouth station wagon.
Here’s a true one-hit wonder: Soul Makossa by Manu Dibango
Cool early 70’s Carribean/African dance beat, French lyrics. But, the National Geographic-style video may be offensive to some, Michelle O has a cameo in her green dress, lol.
867-5309 (Jenny)
I haven’t read all the responses, so...the all-time greatest one hit wonder (drum roll)...My Sharonna
Admit it. You can hear it now...my my my my my wooo dunt dunt da da dunt da dunt da dunt dunt da da and so forth.
2nd place: She blinded me with SCIENCE!. Tom Dolby.
3rd place : Angel in the Centerfold by J. Geils Band.
It’s the only one that deserved to be a hit.
>>You Light Up My Life by Debby Boone.<<
Gack! How about “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ by Nancy Sinatra...
If these two hadn’t had famous fathers, neither one would’ve gotten even ONE hit.

That’s why the record company’s A&R people (Artists and Repertoire”) gave them songs that were sure hits no matter who sang them (You light up my life, Boots)
