It's Spring and time to get a new lightweight semi-auto pistol for carry!
I need to get a new carry gun for Summertime! Currently I carry a Para-Ordanance P-12 .45....It's lightweight, high capacity and fairly small....Great for winter carry but not so much for summer in Atlanta....looking for a summer gun.... Caliber no smaller than 9mm and preferably with a hammer but I'm open to stricker weapons....
There are a lot of new small, flat semi-auto's out there from the Taurus to Sig...
Corrosion resistance is a plus since the weapon will be up against my body on hot sweaty days.....

I’ve got one of those leather-kydex hybrid holster for mine. It works quite well and I probably the most comfortable rig I own. Spare mags go right in a pocket.
Mine’s a Czech model which I got from a C&R dealer. Paid around $200 or so for it. Wish I’d bought 6 of them. LOL.
Best,
L
I’ve taken up a Rusky Mak in .380 in an Alien Gear IWB rig. Hides easy and is enough. Need to try the Buffalo Bore 100gr +P loads or a little more punch.
Reliable and inexpensive are good qualities in a pistol that you will likely never see again I you have to use it.
FReegards, Archy!
... for a little more punch.
I'm not really a big ankle holster fan. When I lived and worked in the Atlanta area, it was a concealed carry requirement that holsters be worn on the belt line, so ankle rigs were a no-no. For pistols....
But it turned out to be a handy place for additional magazines. And if you need lots of additional mags, wear a carrier on both legs.
What I do like about no-strap clipon boottop holsters is that if you're going to be seated in a car or truck for a lengthy period, you can unclip the shorty holster from the boot, and drop holster and all in a shirt chest pocket. Or one each in both of them.
Some years ago, I bought a East German Makarov and after shooting it a bit, fell in love with it. My wife decided she loved it more so now it’s hers.
So I bought another East German one and showed it to my dad. Once again, I was Makarov-less. I looked around a bit and couldn’t find another nice one for a good price and gave up. Several years ago he gave it back to me along with about 1K rounds.
Of all of the pistols I have shot, and that is a bunch, I like the Makarov second only to the 1911.
God created man, Sam Colt made them all equal.
To All,
I found a great resource this AM regarding Small to Micro 9mm for carry....It evaluates all the guns we’ve been discussing plus more.....very thorough....

Interesting read....
Don’t be a slacker, get one of each!
I only have two hands!!!!
Well, if you’re going to be conservative about it...
A short shotgun and .38/.357 revolver. ;-)
Just made my purchase.......
A Taurus Slim PT709 in 9mm from Buds Guns for $184 with no tax or shipping....The FFL dealer down the street doesn’t charge for transfers so my total cost is the $184....
That Shield with the night sights and the three mags is my pistol carry for IWB
Sounds like a good deal. Congratulations!
I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
Range report when you can.
I’m partial to the SA-XD Subcompact in 9mm carried IWB for the lighter clothing of summer carry...
But this new CZ looks interesting and has been getting good reviews...
