It's Spring and time to get a new lightweight semi-auto pistol for carry!
I need to get a new carry gun for Summertime! Currently I carry a Para-Ordanance P-12 .45....It's lightweight, high capacity and fairly small....Great for winter carry but not so much for summer in Atlanta....looking for a summer gun.... Caliber no smaller than 9mm and preferably with a hammer but I'm open to stricker weapons....
There are a lot of new small, flat semi-auto's out there from the Taurus to Sig...
Corrosion resistance is a plus since the weapon will be up against my body on hot sweaty days.....

All of these will work fine, the Kahr, Ruger LSC9S, the Shield, Glock 43. The KelTec is sometimes a little spotty, but if it feeds good, nothing wrong with it.
I have an LC9, every time I start the trigger pull, I have lots of time to wish I had an LC9s before the trigger finally falls.
I have no direct experience with it, but my dad had one and traded it after a few months. There was something about the trigger design that made it difficult for him. I took him to the outdoor range twice and both times I noticed he was hesitating between shots and was visibly frustrated. Those were times he was having trouble actually pulling the trigger. Yes, he’s elderly, but he is a big man with large hands and still quite strong. Strength wasn’t the problem, but his large hands may have been.
Anyway, he traded the Slim on the Ruger LC9S like mine and now he’s happy. He must have really hated the Slim because he’s frugal, so it’s not like him to be willing to lose money.
Final trigger should have read hammer.
My new social gun is a Kimber Micro 9. It’s as close to a 1911 as they can cram into such a small platform. Hammer and external safety. With the extended mag you have 7 in the chute and one up the pipe. Which may sound familiar to 1911 fans... On a belt holster it prints less than my cell phone. The Sig P238 is another really high-quality offering in the same footprint. Great guns.
For a true pocket pistol - Summer or Winter, I’ve chosen the double action-only Kahr P380. It requires some break-in to perform at its best, but it’s an incredibly well-built sub-compact handgun and one of very few that’ll handle Plus-P loads. While you may not want to go with Plus-P (overpressure) loads, it provides an indication of how well built it really is. My only caution is that the recoil spring is pretty stiff and it takes some getting used to. They come with a standard-length (6+1) and extended (7+1) magazine.
For my go-to CCW, however, my preferred choice for Summer carry (and sometimes pocket gun) is the Sig P938, a (sort of) scaled-down, micro-sized 1911 in 9mm. The P938 is an exposed hammer, single action-only handgun that’s normally carried like a 1911, i.e., locked and cocked. I’ve found them to be exceptionally accurate - especially for a subcompact, and they come in a pretty wide variety of configurations, colors, etc. My preferred gun is a P938 SAS (Sig Anti-snag System), but I also have a P938 Nightmare. Great guns, but they’re not cheap. I have both standard (6+1) and extended (7+1) magazines for both.
Although I’m not personally a big Glock fan (great handguns; they just don’t “fit” my shooting style), my wife carries a Glock 42 (.380 ACP), which is an exceptionally dependable handgun. If you want to go with a lower cost, smaller and highly-dependable 9mm, take a look at the Glock 43.
My 2 cents:
Small pocket gun: Kahr P380, I like mine.
Larger, probably not pocket, Kahr PM9, don’t own one.
IWB in .45; Kahr P45, personal experience great gun.
About 75% smaller than a 1911, the Browning 1911-380. Sweet shooting pistol. Some folks are turned off by a 380 though.
These may be on the pricier side. Of course there are plenty great choices other than Kahr.

When I was the range control officer at Ft Leavenworth KS, we had a little old lady (90 if a day) come to the range with her little .22lr revolver. I was happy to let granny use the range was was thinking that all she could do was piss off some attacker.
She LITERALLY shot the eyes out of the target at 50 feet.
I later found out that she had worked with the OSS in WWII. Never again will I underestimate what people can do.
Bretta Jetfire in .25. Very easy to conceal and enough punch for close in work.
I'm a bit more old school than you. I prefer having a now and againhammer, I like good highly-visible sights, and it's nice to have a steel frame on a handgun that's going to see frequent practice. I was first trained with the 1911A1 .45 in 1966, and it has always worked for me, as it did for my dad and grandad, and for my son and grandson.
But I do carry 9mm Parabellum handguns from time to time, mostly WWII German P.38s and later S&W M39s, which fit my hand well. I also often carry TT33 Tokarevs, usually in the original 7,62x25 caliber, but they can be had in 9mmP.
And there is one other 9mm handgun I sometimes bring along as a spare in an ankle rig; most figure they're some other caliber but I have two in 9mm.
It all gets back to the first rule of a gunfight.
Bring a gun.
The best gun in the world does you no good if you do not have it with you. Get one you will carry everywhere, everyday.

I’ve got the Springfield XDs in .45 carried as a back up in a De Santis ankle holster. Can’t beat it while driving. A support strap over the calf, `sheepskin’ lining—I forget it’s there. They make a nifty mag carrier too for the right ankle.
It’s a little too much to conceal with blue jeans so I wear khaki trousers.
Back in 1988, milady kittin grumbled mightily about the USAF Beretta M9 with which she'd eventually managed to qualify, but had a dickens of a time with its DA trigger. Did I have any good ideas about possible alternatives, maybe a little easier to carry and conceal? We tried around a dozen.
And then one day she discovered my former Stasi East German PM Makarov, beautifully blued and built the year I got out of high school. She immediately fell in love with it, and sweetly informed me that we couldys I, jus probably work out some kind of deal. *Okay* says I, *Just fix me pancakes for breakfast from now on, every day of my life...* She not only took it as a proposal, she took the PM as an engagement present.
I also got a Vz82 as its replacement, more or less, too. At least it'll use some of my 6K rounds of 9x18 Makarov ammo I had picked up for my her Makarov. I'm more likely to carry it in the GI upside-down triangular holster that looks like a binocular carrier. Which, worn as a front-of-chest rig when on an ATV, looks like a pair of binocs.
The pancakes are great! Worth it...? Yep!
