GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. Five students have been charged in connection with a brawl Monday at an Upstate high school.
Three 17-year-olds and one 19-year-old were charged Tuesday, according to arrest warrants.
Alisha Sarrose Freeman, 17, and Breann Lillian Gaylord, 19, both of Greer, are charged with third-degree assault and battery. Natajah Seless Cruell and AMaya Frenecia Davis, of Greer, and NKerah Yanaja Martin, of Taylors, all 17, are charged with public disorderly conduct.
Martin and Davis were in custody Thursday morning, and Greer police were working with Greenville County to pick up the other three.
The warrants say that Freeman confronted Gaylord, challenged her to a fight and struck her without provocation. Gaylord then struck Freeman in the head with a bottle, the warrants say.
The police report said that Freeman was bleeding from cuts on her forehead and lip.
The other students are accused of either throwing punches while trying to intervene in the fight or of joining the brawl.
The police report said the fight started over an ex-boyfriend walking to a class with a girl.
A parent sent WYFF News 4 cellphone video of the brawl which several teachers tried to break up.
The five students were previously suspended and recommended for expulsion.

The new ones are like slot machines, only with letters and the occasional apostrophe. Insert a coin, the wheels go ‘round and what comes up is yo’ baby’s new name.
Easy, peasy!
