I have never heard Exxon announce earnings of $20 billion based on 1950 dollars; however, our earnings are $19 billion based on 1960 dollars.
Beauty and the Beast made $170 million this weekend. Actually, the industry thinks Disney is low balling and the rest of the industry thinks it will be $174 million when the final numbers are in. That does not include foreign box office, either.
Regardless of its rating, Beauty and the Beast, will have one of the top 10 box office openings in the history of the movies and will probably be in the top 10 movies of all time, both domestic and foreign.
Oh wait, McDonalds just announced their earnings based on 1947 dollars. McDonalds does not report how many Big Macs they sold because no one cares and it does not matter. It is how much revenue that is generated.
