Number nine, privacy, is particularly troubling to me.

Number two, blackouts, is also a problem. It is well known that our power infrastructure is ripe for hackers and terrorists.

I was really hoping Kim Jong Un and Hillary Clinton would’ve made this list.

Not after the EMP bombs go off.

I wonder how many people predicted that live theater was going away when long form movies came into vogue. Or that movies in turn would fade away when TV became widespread after WWII.

#4--the clutch pedal--is going away unless it's a very specialized sports car. Thanks to modern electronics, six-speed automatics are very compact and shift with impressively smoothness--the six-speed automatic on even the low-end Hyundai Accent is proof of this. In fact, Porsche reports that many of their 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman and 911 models are now sold with the PDK dual-clutch automatic because it has better acceleration even coming out of sharp curves.

#7--the end of plowing--may not happen because today's plows don't damage the soil as much as it was in the past, thanks to improved plow designs. You still need to plow the soil to make the most of the nutrients in the soil.

The weather still causes blackouts around - they are not going away anytime soon. And no not every home can afford Musk’s power wall.

Metal keys will never go obsolete. There are things that need to be locked that will stay that way longer than batteries last. They are smaller than a keypad as well.

Three things that will disappear soon.
Jimmy Carter.
Bill Clinton.
and Hillary!

Maybe we could have a combined service and put
them in a deep pit.

There’s a whole lot of public school ignorance in that article.

Metal keys are not going away. That’s just silly.

Keys blackouts and clutches aren’t going away, at least not soon. Way too many of the things we lock don’t deserve the price of the hitech replacements, and nobody can remember more than 2 or 3 combos. As long as there is lightning it will strike the wrong places and kill the power. And there are enough die hard stick junkies that there will be a market for clutches all the way up until there’s no longer a market for driving yourself.

And privacy went away a long time ago, people are just finally noticing.

“F-150 with a stick”

Drove to work in one today, shaking that stick.
