Thanks for the pings! Great shots! I've never seen a tricolored heron so that was real nice.
My walk today in the East Mojave was nice though. The black-throated sparrows have returned en masse. The whole desert was alive with their "two-notes-and-a-trill" morning song!

Tricolor herons are pretty common here. The males are especially nice in their mating plumage. Here's another shot of one stalking in the marsh.
