81 can be treacherous, especially through Pa. My sons and I got caught in a snow storm on 81 south in Pa., back around 1979 when we were heading to Florida (Disneyworld). I fishtailed a bit at one point, but managed to get control of the car, and the rest of the trip was uneventful thankfully. My kids still make fun of me about that drive down. They were in the backseat arguing. I yelled at them to stop, saying if they didn’t, I’d turn around and go back home. They told me years later that they knew I wouldn’t turn around. So much for threatening your kids.
