Back when I was a pup, guys got married so they could have a regular dependable sex partner to keep them satisfied. They stayed married because they loved the cute little babies resulting from all that sex.

Sex is still wonderful and exciting. But children and grandchildren are even better.

I always run into the mentality that children are a burden. They are so expensive. Maybe have one or two at the most.

And in regards to the cost benefit analysis for young men, divorce makes staying in your child’s life as a man very hard. Maybe impossible if the ex wife is evil.

Got married in ‘72, “back in the Hippie days” and it was kind of a Hippie marriage, in a way, although formally sanctified to everyone’s satisfaction.

My wife was really the architect of the whole thing, surprise, surprise ... so well, here we are. Two kids and three grandkids. Life couldn’t be “grander”.

May others be as fortunate.
