They look like mainly participation medals. I don’t see anyone that good at some many pursuits.
I’ve gotten a few for completing some 150-200 mile bike rides.
It was a charity tour, not a race. As I recall, some were gold. I’ve been in the first ten to the finish and the last six, out of several hundred.
For the record, the last six was by adding a 25 mile loop to get 100 miles. Very few riders did it that year because the first day had pretty brutal weather. that automatically put us a couple hours behind the pack.

Awsome! Let's knock a little kid we don't know, making assumptions on incomplete information, and then oh yeah, and then insert ourselves into the story. I don't care if they are participation awards, the kid is going out and trying and kids shouldn't be robbed of their achievement for stupid reasons. I would wonder how connected the second place teams coach or parents are to the league leadership.
