What was the lie?

I sincerely cannot believe you have to ask.

Pence specifically asked Flynn about the phone call with the Russian ambassador, which took place on THE VERY DAY Obama imposed sanctions on Russia. Flynn assured Pence that all he and the ambassador talked about was Christmas and the tragic plane crash.

Pence 100% believed Flynn, and repeated this false narrative.

Even when the phone call transcript was leaked, Flynn didn’t (immediately) admit that the sanctions issue had come up. Rather, his formerly clear memory suddenly clouded up. He couldn’t recall if the subject was broached.

Classic liar, caught in the act of lying not once but twice.

The only other option is that Flynn’s memory is too unstable and unreliable for intelligence work. Take your pick.

I know the story. I wrote an extensive blog post about it. You mention transcripts, there have been no transcripts leaked to the media. I would like to see the transcripts. All we have are what was supposedly said via WaPo, NYT, and WSJ. I am saying if you read my blog post with the info from these outlets (the fine print of the articles that aren’t sensationalized into the headlines) you will see that the idea that he lied to Pence is an exaggeration

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3524661/posts

The extent of what Flynn did was ask them not to retaliate, and (at the most - depending on the outlet) give “an impression” the sanctions could be overturned. He said they could be discussed when Trump got in office. There is plausible room for Flynn to say the sanctions weren’t discussed because there was no commitment or promise - just telling them to wait.

You continue to ignore the fact that Trump said he did nothing wrong regarding sanctions, and if he lied to Pence and that was the issue, then why did Trump (who had the info three weeks before it hit the press) not fire him or tell Pence at that time? I contend it wasn’t a big deal. The media coverage and optics looked bad, and the establishment wing wanted Flynn ousted and got an opportunity. Read my blog posts and see that there were cheers in the CIA and Pentagon that night per reporters.

If you really want to give up Flynn’s scalp, you don’t do it when the media thinks they have any hand in doing so. The media has been emboldened. See this with Sessions - it’s only the beginning.

I read your entire, wordy post. The salient point remains, and is very simple. Flynn lied. That’s nobody’s fault but his own.

If you imagine that, had Flynn been allowed to lie with impunity, the Democrats wouldn’t have gone after Sessions, you’re living in an alternative reality.
