Intentionally provocative remark, huh.. I would offer five figures to get my beloved pooch back. No amount of money could replace her and no one can give her as loving a home as I (we) can, mostly me. LOL

I mean, what other dog gets CARRIED to her night bed EVERY night, then tucked in the way she likes it and patted 'good night'.. EVERY SINGLE NIGHT without fail?

My son and his wife have a dog. They do not carry the dog (about 80 lbs) to his bed every night, but they do tuck him in, cover him up. When he has stayed with us, I have been known to be sure he was covered on his blanket, on his designated end of the couch (he’s not allowed on furniture at their house, and only the one spot in ours).

Our cat will hang out with me while I get ready for bed each night, and then go downstairs as soon as I get in bed. So every night, I go downstairs and retrieve him from whatever spot he has selected, and bring him back up to the bed, where he usually stays for most of the night. It is kind of “our game”, and he seems to totally expect and anticipate that I will come looking for him each night.

Yeah, it probably was intentionally provocative. You showed outstanding restraint in the reply.

I like our dog and I treat it nicely and play with it and take it for walks, etc., but if it waits to be carried to bed it would wait a long, long time, and the reward might reach five figures if you count the two zeros to the right of the decimal point.

If you lose your dog, let me know, because I’ll put the whole family to work scouring your neighborhood.
