A brief glance makes me think that the storylines in "Lion" might be a little like "Slumdog Millionaire" and "La La Land" a little like "Notebook". Wondering if either or both are worth seeing.
Whaddyathink?
“Lion” and “Manchester by the Sea”,yes,”LaLa Land”.no.
.
That was so totally weird.
What is your point?
Lion was excellent. It did run on for a bit in the middle, but I enjoyed it. Anyone with adoption in their family would do well to see it.
There are very few that are any good nowadays. Here's my quick list of the ones I thought were entertaining:
Hacksaw Ridge, The Accountant, Sully, Hell or High Water, Magnificent Seven. Beyond these, nothing else comes to mind.
The two movies you mentioned weren't worth it, even with my senior discount
Hollywood and its films are not what they used to be.
Thanks.
Curious, what did you like, not like, about Hell or High Water?
I saw it last summer so I’m a little fuzzy on details.
I’m partial to Jeff Bridges. He’s great in this role. Story about two brothers who go about robbing banks to pay off the mortgage on the family farm to keep from losing it. Takes place in west Texas. I was raised in the west and have lived in west Texas for a time. Great music. Good storyline. Lots of action. Entertaining.
