I used to have to take Ranitidine everyday. But then my ex left, and when I ran out, I found that I didn’t need it anymore.

The stuff is pretty cheap as a generic. I think a 6 week supply of 20 mg omeprazole is ~$11 at Costco.

I’ve have heartburn, indigestion, and the like forever it seems.
Prilosec is a sanity pill for me.
Thank you for the tip.

I generally use Ranitidine when I have heartburn - cheap, works fast and not designed for long-term daily use.

I just ordered some.
I’d like to get off the Prilosec train and am willing to try it.
The little pill is a minor miracle to me but have known it can be dangerous over the long haul.

We use baking soda mixed with a little water everyday also.. If I really need something I take Pepcid. Never prevacid.

I switched to a tablespoon of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar in warm water at bedtime. No more Reflux. No more little purple pill. Doctor was thrilled. Says it restores the natural Ph level in the stomach so the acid pumps do not over-produce.

Good to hear. Many people swear by Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar with ‘The Mother’.

Changed her medicine to one that isn’t processed by her kidneys. Dr. told her to quit taking ibuprofen, too.

My kidney damage is completely reversed - in the hospital they “flushed” me with constant IVs and in the process I gained 30lbs which fortunately disappeared gradually within 3 months after the whole awful episode.

Yes, but omeprazole is a PPI. It’s generic proposed.

Whatever happened to taking Tums for heartburn? Cheap stuff and it works. Not really and not really.
It is not cheaper because you have to take large amounts of it to get any extended relief.
And as for working, it works for occasional heartburn. You had a spicy meatball for example. But for the long term stuff it is worthless.

This is weird but I found drinking a glass of Metamucil knocks out heartburn.
