Russian airline Aeroflot has sparked outrage among its flight crew after banning as many as 400 'old, fat and ugly' stewardesses from prestigious foreign routes.
A group of angry cabin staff has written to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to complain about their alleged treatment, supposedly part of a 'rebranding' exercise by the country's national carrier.
Calling themselves STS - the Russian abbreviation for 'old, fat, ugly' - they say they are being prevented from flying on international routes, and instead given unfashionable domestic flights.
One attendant Yevgenia Magurina complained: 'They told us all that only the young and thin will fly abroad for Aeroflot.'

Call it what you want - state-owned media, energy companies, banks, etc. It certainly is not capitalism, comrade.
And we are one of the few nations on earth that doesnt have a state airline. Its rather common.
And wherever it happens it is Big Government. You can keep denying it all you want.
My husband told me he saw signs on their airplane that said, “No live chickens or goats in first class.”
