Apparently they learned NOTHING from killing that one antlered buck a month ago or so. That buck wasn’t bothering anyone. It had taken up residence in a city park, and the local residents really enjoyed having a bit of nature they’d never had experience with, in such close proximity. It was a neighborhood attraction and very popular with the locals. Then the NYPD, with their total lack of experience, got involved in getting the buck out of the park to move it upstate. It never made it there because, just like the steer, they shot it up with multiple darts of trank, which was far too much, especially when agitated from being chased. So if they had previously brought about the sloppy death of a large animal, logic would dictate that the next time that situation arose, they would handle it better. NOPE. Same ham-handed tactics, same result.

Why would police even be involved in something like that?

When seals or whales get beached they always call experts from an aquarium.

Who ordered the police to relocate the buck? It makes no sense, expecially since it was not a danger to anyone.

Some idiot sitting in an office made a bad call.
