They somehow think it is not totalitarian of them to impose taxes on my free speech so that they can get their speech “subisdised” through PBS while they are on welfare.

It is union government thug business generalized

Obviously, the fascist left missed the point of 1984.

I’d forgotten what a dark film this was. Watched it on Hulu a few months ago and the settings used were so dreary and post-world-war European, it was palpable.

“Movie Theaters Hosting Screenings of ‘1984’ to Protest Trump”

I think the libs are being trolled. LOL!

I remember reading the book and seeing the movie in 12th Grade, and still remember the whole thing, even though I’ve never been a big fiction reader.

These guys are going to get red-pulled!

I am actually doing some work on site that a theater owner is planning on developing and placing a new multiplex cinema.

He made it clear in no uncertain terms for his dislike of Hillary and, in fact, had she won the election he was willing to walk away from a project he has already invested well over $100,000 into. He was very excited on the day after the election and came in and to me to move forward with his site development.

The book got it wrong. In the future, we buy our own cameras, and our biggest fear is that noone is watching.

“Do they truly equate public subsidy with freedom?”

Freedom is slavery.

They can’t seem themselves in The Hunger Games, they think Atlas Shrugged is pro-socialist, so why wouldn’t they think 1984 was favorable to them as well?

The education system has eschewed the teaching of logic and critical thinking for decades, and this is the result, they believe what they’re told to believe, that 1984 is somehow critical of Trump, rather than Hillary, Obama or any number of their little cast of Orwellian overlords.

“the Left uses 1984 as an instruction manual”

The Appendix in “1984” _is_ an instruction manual.

That’s why it has been on my queue for some time. Having seen it long ago, I remember it is NOT a fun movie - so when I’m actually inclined to watch something, that’s not likely a choice.

“It has gotten difficult to present a rational argument to modern psychotic liberalism - just not enough to work with.”

They don’t think rationally, so making a rational argument gets you nowhere. Better just to ridicule them, that can still have an effect at least.

Conservatives see “1984” as a warning.

Liberals see “1984” as a blueprint.

Ironic indeed!

As Scott Adams (Dilbert) is fond of noting: we’re all watching the same screen, but seeing a different movie.
