Have you ever read the book, “The Man Who Thought His Wife Was A Hat”? It’s written by the late Dr. Oliver Sacks, the famed neurologist featured in the movie, “Awakenings”. It concerns several case histories about actual patients with actual neurological conditions, which cause them to have perception dysfunction. The case referenced in the book’s title is one in which a man had a malfunction in his brain, which caused him to perceive objects and people as something different than they actually were. He knew his wife was not a hat, of course, but that’s what he saw when he looked at her. I’m not being facetious. Every word in this post is true, and I am wondering (if you are not having us on), if you may be suffering from some sort of brain problem. None of the people in the book are insane, they simply have serious neurological disorders.
