Yale could have followed the same path--instead of it being named for John C. Calhoun, it could have been renamed for Algonquian J. Calhoun.

I was thinking the same thing about nearby Brooksville, FL, named for SC Rep Preston Brooks (a DEM), a staunch supporter of slavery who damn near beat to death Sen Charles Sumner, a REPUBLICAN abolishionist Senator from Mass. My solution, merely change WHO the town is named for. How about the late great comedian Foster Brooks. HMMM, his trademark drunken act on the old Dean Martin roasts may show "insensitivity" to those with substance abuse issues. Or we could name the town for Mel Brooks. Finally a Southern town named for a Jew, how cool would that be? :) NAHH, the PC not sees consider Blazing Saddles demeaning to Black people, even though one main premise of the movie was to mock the old stereotypes. Gee, it's tough to be politically correct! :/
