I just read the article. After seeing the photos of the cracks and deteriorating walls in the basement, I wouldn’t stay there another night. Besides worrying about the building falling down, another article says stresses on the wiring system have been found, so there’s a long-term potential fire hazard too.

Philadelphia had a massive fire inside a skyscraper right in the center of town across from City Hall in 1991. It was an horrific event; although luckily, it was an office tower so only the night watchmen were there at the time it broke out -- but three firefighters died. Imagine the loss of life that would happen if a fire broke out at night in a residential building. Here's the story:
