This is a huge opportunity.

The biggest problem I’ve had with Unions over the years is the fact that their Leadership advocated positions that went against the interests of the Rank-and-File, especially with regards to immigration.

If Trump can succeed in triggering major reforms in the Unions, coupled with a switch in Union allegiance to the GOP, the Democrats will be in an untenable position Nationwide, since they will have permanently lost the Rust Belt.

“Leadership advocated positions that went against the interests...”

There is a presumption that union leadership is strongly related to union membership...that employees banded together and decided to become a union shop and have somebody advocate for them.

In reality, as bizzare as it sounds, union ‘leadership’ acts as an outside 3rd party, interfering with the employer/employee relationship. Sometimes its done forcibly, and the soon to be ‘union members’ actually have no desire to be unionized at all (I believe this is happening with home health care workers and volunteer firemen currently). The ‘union leadership’ interest is self-enrichment.
