The high in the fifties during the day at night dropping to the forties (F) No freezing temps. So I guess only enough to give the protesters cold chills?

You get soaked at 40* F. and it is more than "cold chills" experienced.
You will darn near wish you died. LOL.
Years ago I got accidentally soaked by a ski area snowmaking cannon that burst as I was standing near it.
Even though it wasn't that cold outside...I could barely even think straight. :-)
