Sad for him and his family, glad to see people are recognizing the real root cause of all these football guys having their brains and health wrecked years after football. It's roids, human beings were never meant to have that much power and speed and use them to smash into each other. Until the NFL gets rid of roids, for real, I will never believe they care one bit about player safety.
Thanks for the info. That’s a sad story.
Yes. Agree on all counts.
I can have sympathy for someone who has had their lived destroyed by drugs, alcohol, or steroids, but there is a major element of personal responsibility that has to be considered.
I understand someone who is in pain who gets addicted to painkillers, and in the sports world, this is a problem.
I view the damage done by steroids or recreational drugs in quite a different way.
I would disagree. There are plenty of players who have had careers in football who did it without using steroids.
If someone chose to do it because they thought they couldn’t compete without using them, that’s on them 100%, not on the sport of football.
Just my opinion.
Agreed.
I live with the constant pain of neuropathy (burning and tingling in my feet) and have to take pain meds to get a decent nights sleep.
It is SO tempting to take some during the day to relieve the pain, but I don’t. The personal responsibility thing kicks in.
With all the research that has been done on steroids there is no way anyone can claim they don’t know the harmful side affects.
With recreational drugs I have little to no sympathy for the people who use them.
My sympathy is for their families and the people who love them.
