No, that’s not how it works, nor should we want it to happen that way. Obama has zero authority at 12:01 pm Jan 20 and the military has no authority to do anything of the sort. Obama is President right up to the point Trump finishes the oath. At that point the power is transferred.

Obama is President right up to the point Trump finishes the oath.Obama is out of office at noon on Friday, per Section 1 of the 20th Amendment. The Oath of Office is needed so Trump can exercise the powers of the Presidency.
