The real issue is not health insurance. The real issue is medical care. On medical care, the economics are very clear: those who consume the most either cannot pay or do not want to pay, while those who consume less either cannot pay or do not want to pay for those who consume more.

This issue is insoluble by government, in my opinion. Only a system which combines private enterprise (including free-market insurance policies) and private charity has any potential.

Think ‘roadways’, and apply that line of logic to roads. You’ll find a happy answer.

Very well said, TC.

But America is doomed ... even supposed 'conservatives' on a supposedly 'conservative' forum have already surrendered their principles and come to love Big Brother.

The real issue is medical care.
More so, the cost of medical care. Like the EXPLODING cost of prescription drugs, HTH did medical care get so outrageously expensive?
Beyond the obvious culprit - greed - I think a plethora of lawyers/laws/rules/regs have had a grossly negative effect ... and I hope Trump's solution addresses those factors.

The private charity side of that equation is disappearing. The Catholic Church for example used to run many charity hospitals. No more. Crushing expenses + pressure from Democrats to provide sterilization and abortions have them running for the tall grass.
