Thank you for your clear analysis of how respect is shown on Free Republic. Actively reading fascinating stories and studying good comments is worth a donation. Passively getting dragged to another person’s product or web site is a distraction from the goal of loving the Lord, defending His commandments and respecting our superiors.

I have mixed thoughts about this. Like most Freepers, I suspect, I can’t spend even 1% of my time here, so, I did not see this story when it first posted. What “nodwam” did was make it more likely I did see it, and I’m glad I did: It is a good story — one of the many sorts of posts I come here to find.
Yes, the post used up a little bandwidth, but then again, how much bandwidth did you use up with your repeated complaints? ;-)

Thank you for your reasoned reply and while I understand you might have missed this story, this site could become completely unusuable and no longer a community concern.
You see, we source original content and place that in breaking news.
Now imagine if nodwam and rhett october were multiplied to some 250 bloggers flooding this site with their site.
the maximum number of articles you can see on a FR page is 50 and on any given day, there are some 300-600 new posts in breaking news.
That would mean at least 200 of the posts would be from bloggers. Some sharing some pretty danged great content and others, never engaging in any discourse.
This site is about us and what we find interesting, also what we will accept for content and would submit that continually trying to read a click bait post would quickly get old.
The reason JR and JR haven’t changed the format of this site is to make it readable, easily.
Moreover, I have made so many friends here on FR that I have actually met and that becomes part of our shared experience not only in the real world but also right here, were we can share out thoughts and even challenge concepts or stories to ferret out truth.
Great example was this contrived BS from CNN regarding some bozo, former MI6 agent who carefully compiled a synthetic dossier.
The information was so preposterous, it had to be challenged and it was.
We quickly learned the story had foundation at 4chan.
I had friends, who are liberal, calling to discuss how sick Trump was for having a golden shower.
I had to laugh at them and ask them not to discuss this story anymore amongst themselves as they were going made fools of in the morning.
Golden Shower? That was not contained in the document. What was alleged, is that Trump so hates Obama, he rented a suite in a hotel Obama had stayed in and made sure it was the same room.
He then hired a gaggle of hookers to piss all over the bed.
That story is just plain stupid and too many morons got caught up in it.
My ridiculing my friends with an honest admonishment has resulting in not hearing from one of them 4 days now.
Well, except I texted one saying “Can you text me back. I think my phone is broken”
So that friend did in fact text me back asking “Did you receive my text?”
“Oh thanks! I figured it out............I forgot to press the Trump button was my response.
BTW, it’s not about wasting bandwidth so much as crowding out content.
ADMN did a drive by and he has been placed in bloggers.
If he had ever responded to his own posts, he likely would have lasted longer.

Nothing about restoring the once tramped Right(s) of We the People. Unfort., the ‘great protector’ (Fedzilla) allows the same usurpation in a much of the U.S.
Here is a great example of breaking a story before it’s news on FOX, CNN, MSNBC, the alphabet channels and Drudge.

I post once or twice a day and only thing I believe the community will want to see.
I read a lot of the other post on the FR and enjoy the community. Not trying to co-op or overly post or anything of that sort.
