Ditto with teams in South Florida. First of is the weather, and the fact that most folks down there are transplants still loyal to their former teams.

Florida is much more a college football supporting state than a professional football supporting state. If it weren't for the NFL requiring the Super Bowl to be played in a city with an NFL team located there, there would only be one NFL team in Florida (the Miami Dolphins) and the Super Bowl would be played in a new, dedicated football stadium in Orlando, FL somewhere between Disney World and Universal Studios Florida theme parks--and Orlando easily has enough hotel and convention space to hold a Super Bowl.

Also the reasons the Marlins and Ray sdon’t do well.
The Yankees are more popular in Tampa than the Rays are.
