That’s one small step for man, one GIANT LEAP for mankind.

Talk about timing.

1/6 the gravity means you can jump 3 times as high.

Hopefully the subsequent landing feels equally as cushioned! :-)

Charlie Duke tried this on Apollo 16. They wanted to do a "Lunar Olympics" to see how high they could jump, but Mission Control deleted it from their schedule as far too dangerous. John Young did a small 4-foot jump (with his backpack, he weighed over 300 pounds) so of course (and just off camera and WITHOUT authority to do so) Charlie Duke thought he could beat him. So he tried and went up over 4 feet but came down backwards falling on his shoulder and backpack. He thought he was dead because the backpack was somewhat fragile and if anything broke or if the suit caught a rip, he was up **** creek. Video below with great Charlie Duke commentary.

If you tape someone walking normally on Earth. Then slow it down. It looks like they are in low gravity.

Take a look at the lunar lander. That thing is a piece of garbage with scotch tape, tinfoil and curtain rods all over it. Can’t believe anyone thinks we actually landed on the moon but have never gone back. We could nearly 50 years later it would be much much easier and we could have high definition video footage of a man on the moon. But nope. The cost would be exponentially less than it was. Why not? Because we can’t and never could leave LEO.

Jiminy crickets! Now some doofus on this thread is talking about the moon landings being fake. Next the he will say is that Obambi loves America and Western Civilization.

I hope his leg don’t break, walking, walking on the moon.
