NASA says mysterious object hurtling towards Earth...
NASA said that the object is "not a threat to Earth for the foreseeable future".
Does not compute...

Sounds like an ideal practice target to prepare for planetary defense.

I read that novel. It was fascinating, considering it was written in the 30s. Phillip Wylie was also the originator of the concept of Superman — wrote the first story of a superman.

Worlds In Collision...A great read, interesting theories, many of which were proven correct when we entered the space age.

Thank-you for the suggestion of Footfall. There were just too many of Niven’s books to chose from ( and not in my library) that I just stopped. I just ordered it on Kindle. Please tell me what I should read of the Known Space books.

Well...start with a collection of short stories in "Tales of Known Space" and then you can go to the novel "Neutron Star".
After that I would recommend "Ringworld" and the two sequels. The there is the "Protector" series which deals with the engineers of the Ringworld.
