FWIW, I’ll never understand folks who prefer in human ant farms (major metro areas).
If these NYT fools think Texas is bad for trucks they should try Wyoming.
And what I find hilarious is that in New York city the metrosexuals have to stand in the rain and snow to hail a cab and beg for a ride.
Texas, yes...But throughout the South, a pickup is what a Mercedes is to the NYT...
I’d love a truck- a 1965 chevy C10 with a straight 6 and saginaw “3 on the tree”.
Oh, yeah, red and white wth painted, not chrome bumpers.

Texan men have trucks for the same reason liberal men have balls. even if you never use them it nice to have just in case
‘Climb up in the CAB’ ??
If you are in a faggy Fiat and that big grill fills your rear view mirror you will see why.
NY Slimes wimpy snowflake meterosexuals are jealous they don’t have the cajones to drive a truck.
I started buying trucks when I became a homeowner. I don’t know how you can own a house and not have a truck. I seem to always be hauling something, and frequently out of necessity, not choice.
Here in the Northwest we like our big SUVs. It rains a lot so the covered bed is good. We need the SUVs so we can haul stuff, drive through fields, up mountains for hiking and skiing and driving the hilly roads when it snows.
Lots of big SUVs even in libtard Seattle: Land Rovers, Land Cruisers, Jeeps, etcetera.
And NYers, having made that observation can't leave it at that or with a "Huh. Interesting that Texans are like that". Instead, their reaction is that we Texans must be prohibited from buying trucks; that penalties must be enacted that will discourage such buying behavior. Then these NYers can retire back in to their concrete and glass silos and bask in their sanctimonious smugness, having done their bit to save...uh...umm...well, something or other.
They have a very strong need to feel superior to average Americans, don’t they?
In order to understand the attraction to trucks, it is useful to have done at least one day of manual labor in your life.
Thus, the mystery to the NYT staff.
Good read - thanks for the post. Always humorous to read of what the metros think of us out here in Flyover Country.
I am working on a 62 Willys Truck I acquired a few months ago. I didn’t need it but I wanted it.
I am really, really having an urge to buy an old pickup truck. There is a pretty nice ‘69 Chevy C-10 fleetside for $3K locally, which my research shows is not an unreasonable price...good tires, new carb, elec ign, maybe a few hundred high but I could probably resell it for $3K if I change my mind. I like that style. Used to have a ‘53 3/4 ton junk truck which I bought for a day’s labor.
I have virtually ZERO use for a truck!!
