In the first round I could tell this would be a tough fight for Cruz. Really good fight.

Cruz could have forced a draw if he managed to win that 5th round. All 3 judges gave him the first 2. 2 of 3 judges gave a 10-8 to Cody in the 4th.

Well it couldn’t happen to a more deserving person! I never did understand why so many others were so enthralled with her-she just never really impressed me all that much. Yeah, she could finish off the pathetic ‘nobodies’ she faced-until Holly Holm showed up. After acting like such an ass leading up to that fight, I lost what little respect I had for her and was thrilled when Holly knocked her arrogant ass out! And it sounds like Nunes just put the frosting on her cake!
Well, Tate was a legit opponent for her but point taken.
I think she’ll be remembered as the Royce Gracie of female MMA. Their mastery of one art (Judo in her case, BJJ is his) was enough to dominate early but as the game evolved......

Last night was the Sonnen V. Ortiz fight on Bellator. I might have made a thread if FR was up.
Ortiz won by RNC in the first round. His final fight.
Both men are Trump supporters, Ortiz wore a Pro-Trump t-shirt after the fight.
Next Saturday is UFC on FOX, free tv. I’ll do thread.
UFC news if you haven’t heard, the UFC is adding a women’s Featherweight (145) Division. Cris Cyborg is apparently taking some time off, so the first championship fight is between Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie, Feb 11th at UFC 208.
I think Ortiz won by fixed Bellator fight.

I don’t recall seeing an in cage post fight interview with Chael. Guess he didn’t have much to say, elle oh elle.
Also, AMAZING knock out by Daley, but not good for Ward. Apparently he was hurt, but is not reported to be okay.
Daley really is incredible, showed some good sportsmanship afterwards, which I always like, and I think he will beat Rory.

I’m not into trash talking either, I always thought it was dumb. But in Sonnen’s case it’s 100% fake to sell the fight. He’s actually a kind and thoughtful person.
Daley seems like an OK guy to me.
I don’t get Chael’s trash talking these days. Yes, he used it to weasel into some matches in the past but it’s consistently blown up in his face in recent time. I think he’s really making a fool of himself by continuing it.
Yeah, I always thought of him as that too, but when he came into Bellator, i was like WTF...
The guy was just behaving in an atrocious manner.
I can’t see how it helps one’s career as a fighter to behave that way and then get decimated in a fight as he did.
If you want to sell a fight, just be a good fighter.

When Daley was back in the UFC, I thought his ego got a bit out of hand, but I can see how that can happen from time to time, especially when one is as good as Daley is.
I enjoy watching his fights a lot. I would have LOVED to have seen Daley vs. Josh Crotchchek in Bellator, but alas.
