I neglected to mention that Dad was shot by a nazi sniper, while dragging 2 of his wounded platoon soldiers from an open field, who’d also been shot.

My Dad was 101st, wounded also by a sniper. Spent the next 10 months in hospitals. Later used his GI bill to get his law degree. Lost him in auto accident at age 43 (left behind 10 very grateful kids.)
