It's been 35 years since director Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic Blade Runner hit the screens.
Now the first teaser from the long-awaited sequel, Blade Runner 2049 has dropped.
And, judging from Monday's 106-second glimpse, it promises to be every bit as dark and dystopian as the original.

“maybe they couldn’t extend a replicant’s life after it was created”
That is the problem. This is why Roy suggests using retroviruses, since they can rewrite DNA of an already living organism.
“But if that was the case, what was so special about Rachel?”
She was designed without the shortened lifespan. Apparently Tyrell could only create new replicants without an artificial expiration date, but he could not “fix” the ones he had already created.
Fury Road? Are you kidding? That was the stupidest bit of amalgamated crap ever put on screen.
JMHO
“Blade Mobility Scooter”
I loved The Nice Guys and I thought he was fine in it.
Flow my tears dollars, the policeman actor said.
The Director’s cut took that out. It simply ends at the elevator scene, with more emphasis on the origami unicorn thus hinting more strongly that Deckard might be a replicant (because Gaff knew about his dream).
Ahhhh...that bit of dialogue always went over my head. Thanks!
Doubtful. She was a Trump supporter so no work for her.
+1.

I watched it for the first and last time a couple nights ago. It really was stupid. I kept thinking the targeted age group must have been 10-13 year old boys, the only age group that would get amused about a vehicle having a guy in a red jumpsuit playing an electric guitar that shot flames.
Blade Walker.
You replicants! Get off my Astroturf!
Trivia quiz
What is common to these 3 films?
1. Blade runner
2. Brazil
3. Atlas shrugged.
There was actually a valid theory that Harrison Ford was a copy of the older, disabled guy who was his mentor/partner - which would explain how the man knew what he was thinking and so much influence over Ford, even if subconciously.
That would make Ford a replicant with the older man’s memories/experience/loyalties, and a reason why the older cop would despise him - as his younger, able bodied replacement.
“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.”
Mmmm...maybe. It's hard to speak in absolutes on that topic.
"Aliens" was pretty good. So was "Terminator 2: Judgment Day". They didn't really suck.
And then there's "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan". It blew "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" away and is still the best of the franchise...IMO.
But wait, there's more. "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back". That one clearly didn't suck and is always considered the best of the franchise.
I loved Sci-Fi ever since high school, and read almost anything I could get my hands on. Not so much these days. I have found that the Bible is way beyond human imagination.
This novel, and I suppose the movie "Blade" questions whether androids have empathy.
Boring, dreary, lifeless, highly over rated film...the only interesting character in the whole film was Sean Young...and she’s only in it for a few minutes.
Is this a remake or a sequel?
I travel for work, and you would not believe how often Fury Road is on HBO! You are right, it must be targeting the preteen male audience. Only thing missing is a fart cannon.
