Didn’t anybody else notice this is for her 2 year old daughters pre-school teacher? What difference do grades etc, have for pre-schoolers. Just a way for people to flaunt their money

This morning, my lovely wife sent a small box of homemade Christmas candy to school with WBill Jr. for his teacher.

I suspect that it will be enjoyed. She can't eat a Rolex.

I wear a watch out of habit - and often set it from my cell phone. But my habit comes from the military, where one is out of uniform without the wristwatch.

I also like the tan line in the summer - LOL.

"Yeah, they keep your neck warm."

True, but ...

O, reason not the need! Our basest beggars Are in the poorest thing superfluous. Allow not nature more than nature needs, Man’s life’s as cheap as beast’s. Thou art a lady. If only to go warm were gorgeous, Why, nature needs not what thou gorgeous wear’st, Which scarcely keeps thee warm -- King Lear Act 2 Scene 4.

The upper end of Rolex is around 100 grand for platinum diamond encrusted ones. There are other extreme rare editions or one offs from other watchmakers that run into the low millions. Beyond the utility of timekeeping they are jewelry pieces since like you said a cheap quartz watch can fulfill the utility part for most people.

Announcer: Someday, everyone will own a watch like this. Now, it is available only for the privileged few. The Mogasaki Corproration of Tokyo is honored to announce... Kromega III. [ lightning strikes ] A watch so complex, it takes two people to make it work. One hand wears the watch. The other hand presses the buttons that activate the 100% solid state multi-function digital quartz crystal micro-computer unit. And now, you're ready for the third hand to trigger the light-luminating dial to give you an alphanumeric readout accurate to within 9 a year. It's that simple.

KROMEGA III. Command-crafted in impact-resistant crushed chrome. It's no wonder that professional skiiers prefer Kromega III over any ordinary timepiece.

Woman's Voice: And I love Lady Kromega III. The sleek, space-age styling compliments any outfit. [ Woman's other hand presses one of the buttons ] And the clearly displayed perpetual calendar helps me to remember my many appointments. Would you mind? [ other person brings in a spare hand to operate the Lady Kromega III ] Thank you.

Announcer: Kromega III. It's like asking a stranger for the time.

I’m stating that teachers do not get paid over the summer like some think and that, for a job that requires a degree, the salary is mighty slim pickens.
