I have to say you make an excellent point.
"Trillions" (10 to the 12th) is a vanishingly small number in terms of the spontaneous generation of life.
you assume they would avoid the planet because of us.
if they could get here from wherever “they”, are, they just might be looking for a second home, and clear out some of the existing fauna (ie us). they’d be way more advanced than us if they could get here, so the chances of us winning against them would be slimmer.
