Alabama will play Washington and Ohio State is set to face Clemson in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
The selection committee stayed with the same top four Sunday as it had going into championship weekend, leaving out No. 5 Penn State even though the Nittany Lions won the Big Ten title game and beat Ohio State earlier in the season.

I hear your ‘pain’. I am the mom of a Clemson alum, who now lives near Huntsville, AL... I was in AL a few years back when the ‘war eagles’ beat the ‘roll tide’... Very interesting to observes the fall out. My Clemson alum proudly wore his Clemson tee shirt to the snarls of many.

You are correct. The fun part of the SEC is that on any given Saturday a team can beat you. The SEC is tough and punishes each other badly. If the team gets caught looking ahead, Ark, LSU, Aub, UGA, TA&M Florida, Ten Miss (St & Ole) will beat you. Hell even Kentucky and South Carolina can ruin your season. Kentucky beat Louisville. These cupcake SEC teams would be perpetual spoilers and leaders in other conferences.
I do enjoy watching all college football games. Heart, excitement and emotion can make any game competitive. That’s the fun of it. I do have a hard time with the PSU OSU decision and I don’t have a strong tie in except not caring for Meyer. No more games need to be added for more playoff games. These kids / young men get hurt the longer the season goes. The competition is so tough UGA fired Mark Richt. That was Stupid.
Roll Tide / War Eagle! I can root for both unlike the rest of my state.

For OSU, the Michigan game is bigger than any other Big10 game, right or wrong. Florida always hopes to beat Florida State. I’m sure there are more... What college football lacks in mathematical purity it makes up for with old fashioned rivalry. I worked for a two star general who ripped the rear bumper off a car simply because he was FSU and saw a Gator bumper sticker.

As an Alabama fan, the SEC game yesterday proved nothing, we would have beaten Florida anyway, and we’d have Hamilton back.
This one is right. Ohio State deserves to be in it as well as a much deserved Washington. Clemson had no worries as VT was their only obstacle.
After watching most of this year, Alabama has their best team in 50 years. The defense is fast and powerful.
For all disclosure I am a Volunteer fan and hate the Tide.

And they told us this new conference champion concept would eliminate all the guessing/BS of the past...
Don’t you understand? The BCA was designed from the first place all about the SEC. Their folks pushed it and got it arranged to favor them. At the time, the talk was all about conference championships . . . guess what, the SEC was then one of the only major conferences that bothered with such a gimmick. (They needed one, because otherwise, some seasons good teams would otherwise not meet each other at all.)
But now, that the SEC has this other system in their pocket, conference champions are unimportant, so long as the SEC has a chance to get one and maybe two teams in the playoff.
My alma mater now longer fields football teams.

Just yesterday, my husband and I were on a cruise and were wearing our Clemson shirts. We walked by a group wearing Alabama shirts and they booed at us. Loudly.
Actually I’m with you. Love Alabama but I taught at Auburn for 18 years. I definitely did a “War Eagle” every pay day!
