To be accurate, that list of sites was not created by Mr. Durden. It was created by an organization called PropOrNot, which was subsequently referenced by the Washington Post in their clarion call article that such sites be shut down.
Its nothing more than CYA lawyer-speak that has no teeth or direct meaning.
I disagree, based on the exact wording of the statue that I previously provided in my last post. Granted, any actual action would have to come through an organization within the executive branch, but the committee being created will contain high level executive branch members who would have such capacity. And, any recommendation that came from the committee would be a proverbial green light for such actions.
What is tiring, is the constant BS assumption that that everyone is out to get you
Well conservatives have been fighting an uphill battle for many years now, against a President that has gone mostly unchecked in his violation of the separation of powers clause of the Constitution, and, and a fully complicit and enabling media. So we've earned that right to be suspicious. I, for one, am happy to see us finally finding our footing, and pushing back. Hard.
“To be accurate, that list of sites was not created by Mr. Durden. It was created by an organization called PropOrNot, which was subsequently referenced by the Washington Post”
I know that the hate list is from a wholly owned subsidiary of Jeff ‘Dr. Evil’ Bezos, but I’m still not worried. I think Alphabet/Google is looking down the barrel of an antitrust lawsuit under the Trump admin. Shenanigans like this only serve to accelerate that happening.
Again, I say, here is your bull horn, be loud. Here is your shovel, keep digging. I invite them to piss off the new sheriff.
“Granted, any actual action would have to come through an organization within the executive branch, but the committee being created will contain high level executive branch members who would have such capacity.”
Which is fine. Unless you believe that under a Trump admin that those under his charge are going to come to the conclusion that certain websites need to be shut down as part of the threat assessment. I don’t think that would happen. And, if it did, I think they will hit the Brick wall of the first amendment heard before a Supreme Court with a conservative majority.
Still not worried. Yea, we’ve fought hard. But calling BS on a yappy lap dog does not mean I, personally, have stopped fighting. I’m just calling out Zerohedge for taking this to the Nth degree without taking a look at the really real world we are in. The view presented in the article is projected though the lense of 2012, that is not our current reality.
I truly do respect your point of view, much respect. You are correct in saying we must not become complacent. It’s always good to have a healthy amount of suspicion WTR our overlords. Wouldn’t it be nice if the Trump admin could win trust for a change? It would certainly be a first for me.
