Maybe, but self defense is tough to explain when you shoot someone, stand over the him and shout “I told you not to F with me,” just before firing another shot into the body.”

IF that happened. It’s one guy versus several of the deceased’s friends. Who do you think is going to get their story heard. Initial reports are usually wrong.
I’m not trying to take this guy’s side. I’m trying to get people to THINK instead of just react.

The witness lied. But you bought it.

The guy is such a danger to society, that's why he was released without being charged (he'll be charged later if that's what a grand jury decides). He doesn't sound like a guy on a rampage and the whole "the victim was a sweet boy on his way home to watch Little House on the Prairie after helping little old ladies" doesn't seem to be holding up. If Gasser was determined to be crazy or any kind of danger to the public, they'd be moving heaven and earth to keep him in jail (no bail or super-high cash-only bail).
And check this out: Ronald Gasser did not stand over Joe McKnight when he shot him, JPSO, coroner say
The story that the ballplayer's friends were telling the cops is already falling apart.
