Sir Clement Freud had up to 1,000 victims by current accounts and no one came forward until after he was dead.

Some called allegations of Priest abuse in the Catholic Church ‘conspiracy’ ‘lies’ and we found out about that, haven’t we?

The fact that criminal activity of this sort hasn’t yet been proven doesn’t prove that it did not occur. Correct?

All we are doing is asking the authorities to investigate and find out what’s going on.

President Trump will ‘drain the swamp.’ We’ll see where the dead bodies were tossed.

Great point. This really shows much of the activity is happening at a refugee boarding location in Greece. I wonder where would be the best venue that one would expect an unaccompanied 10-year-old migrant from Syria to place his complaint.

Those examples are solid and I understand your point.

But based on the standards set by pizzagaters, now everyone is suspect and no one is innocent. Do you see the problem with that mindset? That means anyone can accuse anyone else of pedophilia based on hunches and a vague “pedo code” someone pulled off 4chan. Anyone. The bar has been set that low.

We, as decent humans, have a moral and ethical obligation to step in and speak up if a child (or adult) tells us, or presents behavior to us, or displays (voluntarily or involuntarily) physical evidence of molestation or sexual assault. We also have an obligation to step in if we hear indirectly from someone, like a direct witness, or someone who was confided in by a victim, that they have been molested or sexually assaulted. This includes stepping in if we somehow find photos or film or something of someone being molested or assaulted of strangers. Happened recently with an innocent purchase of something at a Goodwill or Salvation Army.

The people involved in the lives of the victims of the crimes you mentioned failed those victims. They didn’t step up or speak out, or they ignored signs of assault or molestation.

We also have an obligation to punish those who make what are found to be false accusations. We tend not to as a society, unfortunately.

Anything beyond that “chain of command” becomes diluted and vague and frankly, unethical depending on the situation. “I heard from someone who heard from someone else...” etc. When you get there, you have a witch hunt. Pizzagate is there.

For every Jerry Sandusky, Clement Freud, and Bill Cosby, you have countless others who have been accused of wrongdoing, and have been found innocent. No matter. Their lives are ruined. We read about them here and people get very angry at the idea of someone being falsely accused.

My point in all this is, where is the line drawn in accusing others of being pedophiles when no proof has surfaced? Because now, anyone can be accused of this based on some hunches. It’s wrong.
