Yep. Except they were not. Some of them survived.

My comment was just in the vein of, “follow protocol and you might live. Run around screaming and you’re gonna die.” i.e. his luck was augmented by his following protocol. If he had not done that, he would not have been “lucky”.

My prediction is evidence will show the survivors to all be in very close proximity to each other and concentrated in "least damaged" section of aircraft.
If one was seated in the areas that took the brunt of the crash...it wouldn't matter if one was in a new titanium seat with carbon fiber and kevlar restraints.

I am a supporter of seat belts. I support safety efforts and protocols.
My own uncle survived a commercial jetliner crash that grievously injured many...so I get it.
In this particular situation, if one was seated in the "wrong" section of the airliner, they were totally doomed.
