agreed, but you dont know that before hand. running around aimlessly screaming isnt going to do one bit of good. At least buckled in you might have a chance to withstand the impact, there were some survivors...

I met a guy once who was the sole survivor of a commuter plane crash. The other twelve passengers and the pilot perished.
He was belted into his seat and when the plane crashed, he was the lone survivor. He was a huge fat guy, too. The only reason I could figure he lived was maybe the dispersion of his body over a really big butt lessened the impact to his organs.

Concur with your post 100%, wyowolf.
My uncle survived a commercial jetliner crash a dozen or so years ago, so I am aware for sure.
In this particular instance it seems a parachute would have been the best equipment to have had available. :-(
