I'm angry and jealous towards people who have things I want that I don't have

My first suggestion is that you leave that church and find a scripture following bible based Christian Charismatic church. They are easy to find because they are the noisy church you may have previously avoided.

A born again Christian thanks God for what they have and trust God for what they need.

Prayers are not for asking God; prayers are for thanking God.

Yup. I thought so too. Why would we want to waste the Lord’s time with a simple fix? Sheesh, this vanity prayer request is an oddball.

Hey, I agree that prayers are for thanking God but I they are also for asking for what we need.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Just say NO to Charismatic churches. They are based on nothing but emotion & fakery.

My mother joined a Pentecostal church over 20 years ago & I curse the day she found that church. Being Pentecostal has changed her from a fun-loving woman to a bitter, angry, judgemenal, irrational, holier-than-thou individual.

Her church is mostly a social club, complete with the loud rock-style band & colorful lights. No tradition or reverence whatsoever.

Pentecostalism consists of emotion & hysteria, not truth. Churches aren’t supposed to be “loud”.

Ditto on changing to a fellowship church. I think most follow the same pattern of breaking congregation down into units of couples with similarities, so that the small group members can council and support each other.
Check out the Watermark in Dallas website for the basic concept of a bible based community church. It is a thriving church with huge percentage of young couples and families. You're wife might find people there that would love her out of her resentments. Good luck, we'll pray for you.
